Truth Tuesday: Finding God in the Ordinary and Extraordinary

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!

Finding God in the Ordinary

Today, we’re having our carpets cleaned. After a year of living here, I think it’s time. We have a spot cleaner for the carpets, but overall they just need a good deep clean. With me being pregnant, there’s no way I can maneuver one of the larger cleaners, and of course, Brian knows a guy. That also meant most of our furniture needed to be moved out of the library.

And again, being pregnant, Brian wouldn’t allow me to move anything. So we got the whole family involved. The kiddos helped tremendously, and within an hour, we got everything moved out and ready to be cleaned.

It was so sweet. Sometimes God uses the most ordinary moments and the people closest to us to create cherished memories we’ll carry for a lifetime. It was a simple weekend afternoon, but to this mama, it was something so much more.

An Extraordinary Little Blessing

Then, at our appointment yesterday, we got to experience something extraordinary and completely unexpected. Instead of simply using a Doppler to check for a heartbeat, they use a mini sonogram to check the baby nowadays. Brian and I got to see our baby moving and dancing around, little arms and legs grooving and bobbing, almost like our little one knew the camera was on! It was an extraordinary moment of our little blessing. We had to take a pause and simply soak in the extraordinary life. What a blessing!

Recognizing God's Invitation

In this past weekend’s Gospel, many invited guests were so busy with their own day-to-day lives and work, they ignored the king’s invitation. I know that we don’t purposely ignore God, but often, we allow laundry, work, or even moving furniture to distract us so much that we forget to appreciate and recognize His presence. It can be easy to overlook the opportunities at our feet.

Here's the truth: God's blessings aren't always found in grand moments. Sometimes they're found in the everyday moments we're too busy to notice.

Let's not get so busy planning and organizing for tomorrow that we miss the blessings right in front of us today.

~❤️~
